| The Athens University of
Economics and Business (AUEB) was originally founded in 1920 under the
name of Athens School of Commercial Studies. It was renamed in 1926 as
the Athens School of Economics and Business Science and in 1989 it
assumed its present name. It is the third oldest Higher Education
Institution in Greece and the first in the fields of Economics and
Business. It has eight departments of undergraduate studies and eighteen
postgraduate programmes. The Department of Accounting and Finance was
founded in 1999 and it has 360 undergraduate students registered.
